Pre and Post-natal
At MICfit we offer programmes for pre and post-natal mums. Exercising whilst pregnant, and after the baby is born in a safe and controlled manner is another passion of Michaela’s. With the correct guidance -exercising and movement throughout the pregnancy is encouraged and has many benefits.
Pre-natal exercise
During the different stages of pregnancy , the exercises routine will change slightly , while still working on keeping the body fit, healthy and strong as it changes. Working on stamina, endurance , balance and overall fitness can help with the recovery process, can reduce the risk of some pregnancy related issues, as well as maintaining a healthy weight.
Post-natal exercises
The return to exercise after having a baby is definitely something that needs to be done under instruction and taking into account each individual case.
The exercises will be different to during the pregnancy, and may include more mobility based movements, some massage release and activation, core based pelvic floor exercises, or even just some adult contact- where the focus is on the mum! This can help with mental health, getting back into exercise safely, and doing something for you.
The benefits of pre-natal and post-natal exercise:
Improve mental and physical overall health, better sleep during pregnancy, strengthened core and postural muscles to help with the demands of pregnancy and after.
Exercise can help with increased energy levels, help manage stress and getting into a routine.
Mums can sometimes skip the exercise routine during and after pregnancy, for a lot of the time it’s not knowing what to do – how much to do – and how to do it safely.
Michaela has completed specialised pre and post-natal exercise prescription , and knows from having her own 2 children how important it was for her to continue to exercise, and how much better she felt to keep the body moving.

Make time for yourself once a week and get mum fit
After having a baby, finding time for yourself is something that becomes increasingly difficult. So when you do make time you want it to count and make as much difference as possible. At MICfit we understand and will tailor a programme to suit your needs. We also understand that you may be feeling tired some days and can change plans to suit your mood. The most important thing is that you stay active and find time for you.
Client Transformation
One of the biggest benefits of one-to-one personal training is that it’s tailored specifically to your needs. Unlike group fitness classes, where we cater to the needs of everyone in the room, as a personal trainer we will work with you to develop a training program that is suitable for your body, goals and lifestyle. We will also take into account any pre-existing health conditions or injuries you have, and modify the exercises accordingly.
